Johannes Vermeer silk neckerchief - 'View of Delft'
'View of Delft' or in Dutch 'Gezicht op Delft' was painted by Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) around 1660-1661. This oil on canvas painting depicts the Dutch city of Delft from the south. With its impressive sky, and subtle reflections in the water, this painting is the most famous cityscape of the Dutch seventeenth century. It is part of the collection of the Mauritshuis in Den Haag.
